There were smiles all around and great fellowship after Debbie's awesome devotional. It reminded us to always be thankful, even for things we do not have.

More ladies getting ready to eat.

Look at the wonderful meal- everything you could ever want!!! Note the perfect potato hill full of gravy and the world famous cranberry relish. Thanks to our wonderful hosts for all their hard work!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

NEW MACHINES AT THE RIVER!!! THE BLESSING IS HERE!

Are these not beautiful!!! New washers and dryers for The River!

Ms. Bonnie helps us out and goes after the dust bunnies!

The old machines are moved out- check out the dust bunnies!!!

The River was blessed by a generous donor with funding to purchase new washers and dryers to replace the original machines that had been in use since our opening day on October 4, 2004. The original eight machines washed just under 16,000 loads of laundry in six years. With the help of Sears and Jim Thomas, Sears Appliance Salesman Extraordinaire, we now are the proud parents of 8 Whirlpool sensory and energy star washers and dryers. They are amazing and the women of The River are tickled pink!!!! Thanks so much to our laundry angel in Kentucky! Take a look at the pictures and please stop by our FIRST FRIDAY OPEN HOUSE on November 5, 2010 from 6-8 pm (live music with The Scapes, Art for sale, face painting, River tours, hot cider and fellowship) to check out the new machines!

Amy's Make It and Take It Class at The River

What's not to love about a soft and new pillow? On September 22, 2010 Super Seamstress Amy conducted her first Make It/Take It class and the ladies each made travel size pillow cases for the pillow forms Amy created. Many of the ladies made two and several of them had never sewn on a sewing machine before. It was an amazing class and Amy was an awesome teacher. Thanks Amy!
Not only was Amy on hand to share her talents and help, but she also created these wonderful step-by-step visual directions to help our guests make their own pillow and learn some basic sewing skills. Thanks Amy!!!

Tiffany and Amy share a smile.
